Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Skylicence Europe, EASA Part-66 exam preparation, and how our AI-powered platform works.

What is Skylicence Europe?

Skylicence Europe is an AI-powered web application designed to help aircraft maintenance students and certifying staff prepare for the EASA Part-66 basic knowledge examinations.

It covers all licence categories — A, B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B1.4, B2 and B3 — across the 17 Part-66 modules (Mathematics to Propeller), with realistic module simulations, detailed explanations, and an AI tutor.

Which licence categories does Skylicence Europe cover?

All eight Part-66 licence categories:

  • A — Line Maintenance (aeroplane turbine and piston)
  • B1.1 — Aeroplane Turbine
  • B1.2 — Aeroplane Piston
  • B1.3 — Helicopter Turbine
  • B1.4 — Helicopter Piston
  • B2 — Avionics
  • B3 — Light Helicopters and Small Aeroplanes

Each category maps to its official module matrix (which modules you must pass) and the Appendix II exam specs.

How does the AI adaptive difficulty work?

Skylicence Europe adjusts question difficulty based on your performance:

  • Score 80% or higher on a set of questions → difficulty increases (EASY → MEDIUM → HARD)
  • Score below 50% → difficulty decreases

This ensures you are always studying at the right level to maximise learning efficiency.

Is Skylicence Europe available on mobile?

Skylicence Europe is a web application optimised for desktop and mobile browsers. You can study anywhere, anytime from your phone, tablet, or computer — no app download required. The responsive design adapts to any screen size.

What is the AI Tutor and how does it work?

The AI Tutor is an interactive chat feature that helps you understand difficult concepts. When you encounter a question you do not understand, you can ask the AI Tutor for a simplified explanation.

It uses AI to break down complex Part-66 topics — from electrical fundamentals to gas turbine engine theory — into clear, digestible answers.

What plans are available?

Skylicence Europe offers three plans:

  • FREE — first 2 modules of every licence category
  • PRO MONTHLY — €19.99 per month with full access to all categories and features
  • LIFETIME — €199 one-time payment for permanent access to all current and future content

How many questions are in the question bank?

Skylicence Europe is building a comprehensive question bank aligned with the official Part-66 Appendix I syllabus and Appendix II exam standards — hundreds of questions per module, scenario-based and referenced to EASA regulations and AMC/GM material.

New questions are added regularly to stay aligned with the syllabus.

What is covered in the basic knowledge modules?

The Part-66 basic knowledge syllabus has 17 modules:

  • 1 Mathematics
  • 2 Physics
  • 3 Electrical Fundamentals
  • 4 Electronic Fundamentals
  • 5 Digital Techniques
  • 6 Materials and Hardware
  • 7 Maintenance Practices
  • 8 Basic Aerodynamics
  • 9 Human Factors
  • 10 Aviation Legislation
  • 11 Aeroplane Aerodynamics/Structures/Systems
  • 12 Helicopter Aerodynamics/Structures/Systems
  • 13 Aircraft Systems (B2)
  • 14 Propulsion (B2)
  • 15 Gas Turbine Engine
  • 16 Piston Engine
  • 17 Propeller

Each module has an official question count and time limit per category (Appendix II), and the pass mark is 75%.

Do I need to pass all 17 modules?

No — you only pass the modules required for your licence category. For example, B1.1 (aeroplane turbine) requires 13 modules, B2 (avionics) requires 12, and B3 requires 13.

Skylicence Europe shows the exact module matrix for your category so you know precisely what to study.

Which modules include essay questions?

Per the official Appendix II examination standard, essay questions are included in:

  • Module 7 (Maintenance Practices) — 2 essays
  • Module 9 (Human Factors) — 1 essay
  • Module 10 (Aviation Legislation) — 1 essay

All other modules are multiple-choice only.

Can I track my progress across modules?

Yes, Skylicence Europe provides detailed analytics to help you identify weak areas and focus your study time:

  • Accuracy by module and topic
  • Difficulty progression
  • Exam history
  • Performance trends

You can drill down to individual syllabus topics.

How do I get started?

Getting started takes three steps:

  • Visit skylicence.com and create a free account
  • Choose your licence category (A, B1.1-B1.4, B2 or B3) and start practising the modules you need
  • Upgrade to PRO MONTHLY or LIFETIME when you are ready for full access to all categories
